My honest opinion
With Wix, I have managed to get a site up and running and looking pretty decent within an afternoon. There is basically no learning curve. You click and type. You drag and drop. You’re up and away. If you are nervous about tech then this is the builder for you.
Shopify is still easy, it’s just more structured. You can customise but rather than dragging and dropping, you use a theme. It means you might not have quite the same artistic freedom but on the plus side the more rigid structure means it’s harder to break things. Shopify just works. If you are serious about selling products, or you think you’ll be selling regularly, I would just jump right in to Shopify and not look back.
SEO and growth
Both platforms are perfectly fine for SEO these days.
You can:
– set page title
– rank on Google
– add meta descriptions
– write blog posts
So don’t overthink this part.
The bigger difference is scalability.
Shopify grows better with bigger stores.
Wix is perfect for smaller setups.
